There is no secret
Stripped many years of paint from the mahogany panels in a Seacliff residence, sanded for days and applied oil based polyurethane varnish to restore the faded gentility this room deserved. Hand finished gloss enamel on the ceiling beams. No secret here just hard work and experience.
Creative Solutions
There is never only one answer to any decorating question. This house in the Mission featured in Dwell magazine was finished with a micaceous iron oxide paint from Sydney Harbour Paint. We used Sydney Harbour Paint when the company first started many years ago.The architect was open to suggestions and liked the idea of having th same paint as the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Experience is the Key
Often what is missing is the ability to find the solution that exists between what is avaialable. For this Mid Century Presidio Heights we were asked to find "the"color for the stain. Working with the stain providor we customized the formula. We also did the interior painting and provided conversion varnish finishes for the kitchen cabinetry.
